I am pissed. I know shocker huh?
Anyways Today is San Jacinto day here in TX. The battle everyone is so proud of where Texas ran screaming “remember the Alamo”! And the Texas army defeated a much larger Mexican army. All well and good. I did a report about it in elementary like I’m pretty sure every kid in TX had done at one time or another.
What pisses me off is today after 28 years of living in Texas I find out about how they really won that war. It finally makes sense. A mulatto slave woman named Emily that used her powers of femininity to “distracted” Santa Anna to give Texas the advantage. She is where all that yellow rose of Texas stuff got started.
That is such an interesting story. The fact that it was covered up pisses me off to no end. I know it is not surprising that a group of men did not want to acknowledge their war victory was due to a woman, but come on! I have never heard a suggestion of this until today. What a bunch of bull shit. On top of that what other fascinating women have I been screwed out of learning about?! I'm so mad I could spit.

Why and how the power of the feminine has been seen with such fear an suspicion from the other side of the spectrum has always been a mystery to me. In fact MY blog post for today touches that very same subject as two important days have come together this Friday.
